Whether it’s summer or winter, there’s a lot of interesting things to do in Järvenpää.

The city wants to make sure there’s all sorts of markets, events and festivals going on throughout the year. Talking about the street culture of Järvenpää, the Janne Promenade and Rantapuisto lakeside park is where it’s at! Here are some all-time favourite events that attract people to enjoy our city and its bustle time after time. Check this out if you want to try out something new!

The thing is, you have to come and experience Järvenpää yourself!

Music: many concerts and festivals are organised in Järvenpää every year. There are summer festivals in the Rantapuisto lakeside park, concerts and shows taking place at the cultural centre and events and outdoor markets on the main promenade. When it comes to festivals, there is truly something for every age and taste: latest pop music, interdisciplinary chamber arts and… blues, of course! For those who don’t know, our city is famous for its blues festival. People truly love it, and why wouldn’t they? It’s the ultimate summer experience after all.

Street Markets: every now and then, the Janne Promenade is filled with charming booths, kiosks and stalls. Visiting a local street market is such a laid-back and fun thing to do on a Saturday afternoon. Luckily there are quite a lot of them here in Järvenpää all year around: In spring, farmers and artisans sell their fresh products and handicrafts. In summertime the promenade is filled with international flavours and live music. Even when there’s snow on the ground, our winter and Christmas markets take place outside, so if you haven’t got yourself a pair of woollen mittens or socks yet, this is definitely the best place to get them!
